About AltarDesk
Built by church administrators, for church administrators.
Our story
AltarDesk was built by Rayscent Ltd, a software studio based in Leeds, UK. As trustees and secretaries of a UK Charitable Incorporated Organisation ourselves, we saw first-hand how much time church administrators spend on spreadsheets, paper declarations and manual Gift Aid claims.
We built AltarDesk to solve that — starting with the UK's £560 million Gift Aid problem, and expanding into a complete management platform for churches and charities.
Most church management software is built for the American market and adapted for the UK as an afterthought. AltarDesk is different. Every feature — from HMRC-compliant Gift Aid exports to Charity Commission governance tools — was designed for the way UK churches actually work.
Our values
UK-first
Built from the ground up for UK Gift Aid rules, the Charity Commission, UK GDPR and CIO governance. Not a US product with a UK skin.
Trustworthy
Your data is hosted in the UK, protected by row-level security, and backed by an immutable audit trail. We take data stewardship seriously.
Purposeful
We exist to help churches spend less time on admin and more time on mission. Every feature is built to serve that purpose.
The company
AltarDesk is a product of Rayscent Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Based in Leeds, we build software that serves the charitable sector — with a particular focus on churches, CIOs and faith-based organisations.
